TOPEKA, Kan. – Kansas Gov. Mark Parkinson is skeptical about a new smoking ban bill, calling it a “fraud.”
The bill was introduced earlier in the session by the state's House of Representatives.
It allows smoking in separate smoking areas in bars and restaurants.
The bill would nullify the ordinances already put in place by cities and counties throughout the state.
Parkinson says he will veto this bill if it makes it to his desk.
He does support a state-wide ban on smoking in public places though he doesn't believe this plan is right for Kansas.
