LAWRENCE, Kan. – Lawrence city engineers are working to secure a grant which would improve paths between the KU campus and downtown.

The $150,000 would help pay for the installation of a new sidewalk and streetlights between South Park and 12th and Louisiana.  No official site has been chosen.

The area has become a concern after several students were robbed and attacked over the last year.

Work could begin in the summer of 2010.
