MARYSVILLE, Kan. – Two men who escaped a Kansas jail have been captured in Beatrice, Neb.

Douglas Kling and Weston Canfield escaped a facility in Marysville around 11 p.m. Sunday, police say.

They were captured about 35 miles away early Monday without incident after a brief foot chase, said Beatrice police Sgt. Tony Lenners.

Kling was being held on attempted first degree murder charges and Canfield was being held on burglary charges.

Marshall County Sheriff Daniel Hargrave said the two overpowered a security guard at the county jail and stole two vehicles at a nearby car dealership.
