OLATHE, Kan. - A warning to Johnson County seniors.

Johnson County District Attorney Steve Howe says he’s getting complaints from seniors about Medicare fraud. They say scam artists are calling them and claiming to be representing the Social Security Office and/or Medicare. They then ask the individual for their Medicare number.

Officials say the calls come up on caller i.d. as 866-234-2255.

The District Attorneys Office is asking people to be aware when you are contacted by an unknown caller. Never give out personal information, including policy numbers, birthdays, social security numbers, credit card or bank account information.

If you believe you have been a victim of Medicare fraud, call the Johnson County District Attorneys Consumer Hotline at 913-715-3003.
