KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kansas City police want you to beware of who may be at your door.

Officers are warning people of a potential scam.

Police say two men posed as vacuum cleaner salesmen.

It happened last Thursday in the 6200 block of East 95th Street.

Police say the men gave a high pressure sales pitch.

They think the men were trying to steal from the homeowner.

"The owner of the house went upstairs to check on them and he was actually out of the bathroom and in one of the bedrooms standing by the dresser which kind of concerned him. Nothing was taken," Sgt. John Cisper said.

The sergeant says it’s best not to let sales people in your house unless you have an appointment.
