EXCELSIOR SPRINGS, Mo. - Friends and Excelsior Springs residents are still in shock after hearing about Carol Thomas' abduction and death.
Chris Lynn has known Thomas all her life. Thomas was at Lynn's house when she was kidnapped.
"They grabbed her. They beat her up and put her in the trunk of the car. A lot of stuff you can't imagine," said Lynn.
He says the whole neighborhood is in shock. He described her as sweet, caring and a peaceful woman.
"There was no part of her that would hurt anyone, I can't imagine why anyone would do this," said Lynn.
Just down the street, a woman says someone came into her home looking for Thomas. She said he was armed with a taser. Police found a later found a taser they believed was used in the abduction.
Samatha Huffman is a childhood friend of Thomas. She said that she had been going through a rough time lately. She still can't believe she's gone.
"I am just still processing it at this point," she said.
Another friend Amber Odell said Thomas was like an older sister. She was always there to cheer her up.
"When you turn on the news in the morning and see somebody you know, it's upsetting," said Odell.
They were hoping to attend a candlelight vigil held for Thomas Thursday evening.
