KANSAS CITY, Mo.--A registered sex offender is charged with beating and sexually assaulting his girlfriend, less than a year after he was paroled.
The 39-year-old victim told police that she and David Lowe, 54, have known each other for 23 years but started dating just three months ago.
According to court documents, the victim and Lowe were on a date, and she refused his sexual advances. That's when Lowe allegedly picked up a mallet from the back of his vehicle and struck her in the head four to five times. He then sexually assaulted her.
Kansas City police arrested Lowe the following day. The Jackson County Prosecutor's Office charged him with forcible rape and forcible sodomy.
Lowe denied the accusations.
Lowe was incarcerated in 1986 for rape. He was paroled in January 2009. He is currently on parole and is a Missouri registered sex offender.
Lowe is being held on $250,000 dollar bond.
