KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The next three months are the most important for your lawn.
First, hold off on the seeding. Fall is the most important time of the year to fertilize.
Bluegrass and fescue lawns need 75% of an entire year's fertilizer needs applied in the fall.
Properly fertilized lawns will thicken up and fill in on their own without overseeding.
If you have a bluegrass or fescue lawn, only spot seed areas that are bare or damaged by white grubs. If you want the best lawn on the block, fertilize three times this fall!
A September fertilization with a standard lawn fertilizer, followed by an application of a lawn winterizer fertilizer in October and a final lawn winter fertilizer in November.
Spot spray weeds as you see them.. and your on your way to a beautiful lawn.
