KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Got extra toilet paper?
Metro area Sonic locations are partnering with City Union Mission Saturday in an effort to stockpile a six-month supply of toilet paper for use at the mission’s facilities and shelters.
Customers who bring in their extra toilet paper on Saturday only are eligible to receive either a free medium slush or a cherry limeade, depending on the location.
“This is such a practical project,” said Daniel J. Doty, City Union Mission’s executive director. “Across our various facilities, we use about 6,000 rolls of toilet tissue every month, which as folks know from their own use at home, can be quite expensive.”
Customers may also donate facial tissue, disposable diapers, toddler pull-ups, baby wipes or feminine products to receive the free fountain drinks.
“Area store managers have really taken hold of the drive and are making huge strides in the community to support the efforts,” said Sara Kohlstaedt, Director of Human for Northland Sonic Drive-Ins.
“Our Sonic goal is to provide City Union Mission with six months of toilet paper.”
A six-month supply is equivalent to approximately 35,000 rolls.
