Holiday Tree Lighting at the Independence Square

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. – The Independence Square is getting ready to be a little brighter.

On November 7, city officials will light the Courthouse Holiday Tree and the rest of the square.  The lighting ceremony begins at 5:45 p.m. on the north side of the Courthouse.

Mayor Don Reimal, County Executive Mike Sanders and Santa will be on hand for the ceremony.

The event will include carolers, roasting chestnuts, kettlecorn and hot chocolate.

Sleigh rides will be available for $2 a person beginning at 2 p.m.

The square will also host a Holiday Open House on November 6th at 10 a.m.
