RIVERSIDE, Mo. – A maintenance worker at a Kansas City-area casino was rescued from inside a parking garage catwalk Christmas morning.

The emergency call came in around 9:40 a.m. about a fallen maintenance worker.

The fire department was told a maintenance worker was doing routine work on an upper level in an enclosed space at the Argosy Casino, 777 NW Argosy Parkway. The worker has apparently fallen approximately 15 feet to a lower catwalk that was 30 feet high.

The Riverside Fire Department called the Kansas City, Missouri Fire Department in to do a ‘high-angle’ rescue.

A spokesman at the casino says the maintenance worker was conscious and talking as he was removed from the catwalk and he would be taken to an area hospital for observation.

The worker received injuries to his back.
