"Chef" Jasper Mirabile's Old Fashioned Summertime Strawberry Ice Cream
2 Pints Fresh Strawberries cleaned, halved and pureed
1/2 Liter Heavy Cream
1/2 Liter Whole Milk
3 oz. Strawberry Syrup
15 oz. Sugar
Pour all ingredients into mixing bowl and stir. Add to ice cream machine and process according to manufacturer's directions.
Jasper's Notes: Sumertime! Summertime! This is my cousin Reno's recipe for old fashioned ice cream. He reserves some of the fresh strawberries to add at the end of the process but that is up to you. I also like to sneak in a little Sambucca Italian liqueur. This is really a basic gelato recipe, NEVER add egg, Reno said it would be a sin!
