Now that people around the metro are heading back to work, they're looking for ways to get out of their driveway without calling a tow truck.
If your car is stuck in your driveway or even on a major street, there are ways you can dig out without paying hundreds of dollars.
1. Clear the snow off your tailpipe - that way the exhaust won't end up inside your car and potentially make your passengers sick.
2. If your door lock is frozen, use a de-icer, match or lighter to heat up your keys. Then try inserting them in the lock again.
3. Keep a shovel handy (maybe in the back seat of your car) - dig around all four tires until you can see the ground. Then add ice melt or salt around each tire.
4. If you live on a street that doesn't see a snow plow for days, you might want to hire a private company. It'll cost you, but in the end it could save you from getting stuck inside your home.
