CINCINNATI, Ohio - Children today are heavier and have more risk factors for heart problems than kids growing up in the 1980s.
Researchers at Cincinnati Children's Hospital medical center compared data on 350 children in the 80's with a matching group of kids in 2008.
Body mass indexes were higher overall among today's generation. Doctors also say today's kids had a higher left ventricular mass index -- a measure associated with future heart risk.
