Math Mania at Knob Noster

Good Morning,
Its been a while since I updated this blog but thought I should attempt to be a more regular contributor.  Yesterday(Monday), I was in Knob Noster at Knob Noster elementary.  The school's 400-students are getting excited about studying math by holding a "Math Mania" assembly.

I was the guest speaker charged with getting the kids charged up about math.  No easy task as a lot of kids want to know how they will use math throughout their lives.  When it comes to meteorology we use math in a number of ways; to predict the chance of rain, to find forecast high temperatures, to convert winds speeds from knots to miles per hour and many more ways.

The Panthers asked lots of great questions, some easy, some hard to answer.  For instance, "How is Math real?"  Very theoretical!
On a side note, As I was driving to Know Noster I watched B-2 bomber take off and climb out as it left Whiteman Air Forece base.  No matter how many times you see that, its still very impressive.

    Have a great day,
Brett
