Take a look at this great looking bunch of kids!

They are the 2nd graders at Lakewood Elemntary in Overland Park. I was there on Wednesday for a weather demonstration.
I continued to be amazed at how informed and knowledgeable our young people are when it comes to tornadoes, tornado safety and processes in the atmosphere.

Wednesday's visit wrapped up a very busy season for school talks and visits. Gary, Jeremy, Jeff and I love doing these and try to make as many as possible. We, like all other T-V stations, do these for free, so there is no charge. We do these as an outreach to spread the word about severe weather safety and get kids excited about careers in science. Let me tell you, talking to these youngsters, there is a bright future ahead of us when it comes to environmental science.
Have a great holiday weekend,
Brett
