My grandfather passed away about a year ago at the age of 92.  He had Alzheimers.

It was hard to see a man that had so much knowledge and common sense to lose it as he grew older.  At 90 he rapidly declined in his ability to remember each child and grandchild he helped raise.

Alzheimers is a terrible disease without a cure. But there is hope.

Kansas City has been tapped as a trail site for a new drug doctors hope will slow down the effects of Alzheimers.  Dr. John Ervin of the Center for Pharmaceutical Research is heading up the trial in Kansas City.  Ervin joined me on NBC Action News Midday to talk about the drug trail.  See the viewer to your right for the video interview.

Your loved one may be eligible for the new drug trail.  If you are interested in getting involved, click here for the ICARA study.
