OLATHE, Kan. – What do Elvis and going green have in common? The answer, the first ever Johnson County, Kan. Go Green Save Green event.

Organizers hired an Elivs impersonator to sing "Viva Las Vegan” as volunteers planted trees Wednesday.

The Earth Day-style fair was held to encourage green living among residents, and to showcase the county's green initiatives.

Classes were held on rain barrel construction, backyard composting, and low maintenance gardening. County officials also displayed their fleet of alternate fuel and hybrid vehicles.

Vendors of eco-friendly products set up booths and did demonstrations.

County officials called the event a success and hope to do it again next year.
