KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Obesity rates aren't slowing down. In Missouri, they're up significantly for the second year in a row.
A report called “F as in Fat” was released Wednesday. In it Missouri ties as the 12th-heaviest state, and Kansas is 27th. Among kids and teenagers, Missouri ties for 15th and Kansas is 24th.
Jeff Levi with Trust for America's Health says, “We've been on this trajectory that really is unsustainable in terms of the health of our country."
Looking back almost a decade no state had more than a 20% obesity rate. Today, every state but Colorado is at 20% or more.
