Name Brand VS. Generic; The Great Debate
Every shopper makes countless decisions every time they walk down the aisle in the grocery store.
But the constant question facing many shoppers would be whether there is a real difference between those pricier name brand products and the less glitzy generic or store brands.
Are those recognizable name brands really worth the extra price?
We asked seasoned shoppers to weigh in on the great debate.
“I think this is with any consumer, if you find a name brand on sale you’ll get that,” said Javana Thompson, a retired Kansas City, MO school teacher.
But other frequent shoppers like Jeni Cosgrove believe there is little to no difference between name brand and generic.
“We’ve tested both generic as well as leading brands and I have found there is really not much difference in the products,” said the Prairie Village mom.
