I agree with silentmajority; Arresting prostitutes who are not walking the streets creating a visible display of debauchery is a waste of taxpayer money. I would like to see the reports linking other crime to the neighborhood caused by prostitutes working out of their own homes. These white collar prostitutes are bringing gentlemen with good jobs and money into your neighborhoods. The money they charge for their services is high to keep them safer. Most of the men that respond to their ads own their own business or have high paying jobs. What kinds of crimes do you expect them to bring to your neighborhood? The idea that all these women are drug users and criminals (besides prostitution that is) is ludicrous! besides, their are plenty of drug users in your neighborhood other than those who sell sex! This is a no-brainier. Police should find more dangerous criminals to catch than a woman who is trying to stay off welfare and who is the victim of the "crime"in the first place!

The only result to the media attention given to this will be that the police doing the investigation will be even more likely than before to entrap and lie about what was said or offered by suspected prostitutes so they can seem more successful and compete for promotions.

LEGALIZE IT! TAX IT! Give the girls free health care so we know everybody is safe. I agree with the comment about two people meeting and having sex for free. Why is it a crime all of a sudden if money changes hands. What if she would have sex with the guy for free and he gave her a gift/money. Is that still prostitution? My ex owes me $36,000 and has for 6 yrs. Jackson County can't seem to get him to pay up. But, first they would have to find him first.

This is my neighbor and I am upset that with all the taxes we pay in Platte County that our Sheriff's dept. does not have the time to do something about this. I wonder if they would have more time if this was their neighbor. This has been going on for quite some time.

I agree with you silentmajority. Channel 41, could not careless about this, they are just running it for ratings as in a sense, it's like, they hope it has the same effect as if they were showing a porn movie. They make this sound so bad, yet they would never say anything negative about all the disgusting gay in your face crap that goes on. The inner-city and gang crimes kills and terrifies 100's every year, yet Keith King runs his mouth about this. He'll probably show up to that ladies house after hours for some additional investigating won't you Keith? I'm sure for some guys, this is their only chance of any kind of intamacy. Shame on Channel 41, for expoiting this subject for ratings!

Exactly that is what I am talking about put the pressure on the police and our elected leaders to do something about that which affects numurous innocent victims and put a stop to it instead of following consenting adults around undercover. Let me ask this question would this be a big deal if it was a women and a man just meeting to have sex with no money changing hands??? That would be a no. Just cause prositution is illegal don't mean we lose sight of the big picture which is there are much more pressing needs our resoucres should be used on than someone paying someone for sex in there own home behind closed doors.

SilentMajority, if we reported on all of the gang activity in town, literally nothing else would be reported...

silentmajority - 4/24/2009 6:13 PM
I understand your point of a quite neighborhood but no one even knew this was going on till we have late breaking news and an undercover investigation. Let's stick to things that need be reported that get swept under the rug like the people ripping off the elderly and the gangs running rampant and the drug dealers. Let's report about the people that need be made accountable like the running joke at city hall and all we get about that is 20 seconds of coverage but the main thing I am getting at is these women aren't standing on the corner that is where the other trouble comes from and that I am against but behind closed doors between to consenting adults should be those peoples business.

Regarding the gal near Platte City - I own the same color make of Mercedes SLK that you see in her garage - so if you see me in the northland area, please do not ask how much my wife costs :) Thank you!

Silentmajority... I see your point but where there is prostitution there will be other trouble. Quiet neighborhoods both small and upscale do not need this. It needs to be stopped now.
