Its NOT the Governments Fault, its the People who work there that took the Job, that are the problem, and NOT just the VA, but anywhere, anymore people either don't care or are so pushed for time because of staff shortages they aren't givin adequate time to do their jobs properly, starting to see this a lot lately too in the private sector with some companies !

The government can't take proper care of our most deserving citizens... OUR VETERANS! This is proof why the government should STAY OUT of the business of socialized medicine. They've proven they don't care about our veterans. Why would they care to help anyone else? The only quality government health care is made available FREE to politicians.

Oh JPnKC - I understand the story --- and the reason you don't hear abt it in a public hospital is that it is never reported....betcha it has happened or worse! THe point you are missing is that the problem was identified and corrected without any harm to the patients. My husband is a veteran - so you better believe I want good and safe care for our vets. I know many of the staff at the veteran hospital in kansas city and they really care and i bet if you got a report from mayo and the vet hospital the care would not be different. now i challenge Channel 41 investigative team to chk local hospitals to see if they have ever had to cancel a surgery because of concern over the sterilized tools.

Hey Gretchen- if you dont understand the story sorry....Russ is not attacking the heroes- he is reporting on unsanitary conditions in a VA hospital- which seems to happen very often. THIS SHOULDNT HAPPEN AT ALL--I never heard of this in a Public hospital....its always seems to be the VA which has a record of multiple problems in treating our heroes...the VA should be a MAYO like hospital....

So Russ - what is the big investigation!Sounds like hype and trying for ratings. Actually should be sending kudos to these people who treat America's heroes...they identified the problem, corrected it, and at no time put our veterans at risk! Instead of trying to create a negative story - you should be complimenting the medical center.

So Russ - what's the story here? Looks like the problem was identified and corrected and no patients were at risk!
