KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster hopes a trip to the Big Apple will bring an end to racy ads on Craigslist.
Koster left for New York Monday night. He’ll meet Tuesday morning with representatives of Craigslist to discuss ads on the erotic section of the popular Web site.
“Anybody who goes on the erotic services section of Craigslist is going to find a set of ads that’s so blatant,” Koster said before boarding a plane at KCI.
Koster hopes Craigslist will remove the ads from its Web site altogether.
“No one will disagree that this is prostitution in many, many cases,” he added.
Last month, the NBC Action News Investigators exposed the problem of racy ads on the popular Web site.
The hidden camera investigation traced some ads posted by people living in quiet, even upscale neighborhoods across the metro. Each person indicated sex and money would be involved with a meeting.
The Attorneys General from Illinois and Connecticut will also be part of the meeting with Craigslist.
