KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Missouri has a long list of bridges that need work. The NBC Action News Investigators have tackled the topic of the state’s bad bridges in the past.

Thursday, we uncovered the list of hundreds of bridges in the Kansas City metro area that inspector list as in poor or serious condition.

Out of more than 550 bridges on the list to be replaced due to poor conditions, we found two in our area that are major bridges used my many people.

In Clay County, Missouri 92 eastbound over Williams Creek is in serious condition.

So is the bridge at U-S 24 at Rock Creek in Jackson County.

Nearly 250 bridges in the metro need major work like deck replacement. That includes the east and westbound bridges on Bannister Road east of Troost and Missouri Highway 10 westbound crossing 69 highway.

The documents below contain the complete lists.  In the "status" column on those documents, a 3 means the bridge is in serious condition and a 4 means the bridge is in poor condition.  The words "minor" and "major" refer to the volume of daily traffic on those bridges.

MoDOT also posts an interactive map to help you find troubled bridges in your area at http://www.modot.mo.gov/kansascity/Maps.htm.
