KU Hospital Gets Top Ranking in 3 Categories

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The University of Kansas Hospital received three top rankings in the latest Best Hospital list in U.S. News & World Report.

The magazine ranked 154 hospitals on overall patient satisfaction, quality nursing care and pain management.  The University of Kansas Hospital was on all three lists and the only area hospital to make any of the lists.

On the “Best for Nursing Care” list, patient satisfaction survey rankings put The University of Kansas hospital tied for third with the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

On the “Best for Pain Management list, patient satisfaction surveys have The University of Kansas Hospital tied for 7th.

The hospital was 13th on the “Overall Patient Satisfaction” list.

“These lists show advanced medicine and compassionate care can both be part of the academic medical center experience. It clearly shows our culture throughout the organization is focused on the patient,” said Tammy Peterman, chief operating officer and chief nursing officer for The University of Kansas Hospital.
