KANSAS CITY, Mo.- The sneezes and sniffles, coupled with the bad economy, means business is booming at the Kansas City Free Health Clinic.
Officials with the Free Clinic say their patient numbers are up 25 percent. They say they usually see between 1,200 and 1,500 people a month, and even have to turn away 300 people a week because they can't keep up with demand.
"It's been very chaotic and busy, but it is something we are used to," says Craig Dietz. "We're used to dealing with the crisis of the uninsured in the city every day."
The clinic says unemployment and a tough economy are behind the increase in patients.
A free health clinic will be held Dec. 9 and 10 at Bartle Hall.
