Kansas City, MO - The snow and ice in early January made the Community Blood Center a very quiet place.
Now, they really need donors to roll up their sleeves.
The Center's blood inventories are at critical levels, with only a half day's supply.
The Community Blood Center must collect 580 units of blood and 70 units of platelets each day to meet the needs of its 73 hospital partners in Kansas and Missouri.
"This is blood that stays right here in our community. So when you donate to Community Blood Center you know that your blood will go to help a friend, a family member, a co-worker,” says Stann Tate, Director of Marketing for the CBC.
The community blood center serves more than three million people in this area.
The center has several mobile blood drives. You can make an appointment online by logging onto
