KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Looking for something fun to do this weekend that doesn’t involve knocking on doors and begging for treats? Why not have a frightening time on the town?
Now through Sunday, you check out both the Macabre Cinema and Chambers of Poe haunted houses.
Macabre Cinema will take you “from the screen to scream” with scenes from classic as well as contemporary horror films. And it all takes place in a haunted, 4-story, 1930’s movie theatre.
Or visit the Chambers of Poe for a more literary fright. Celebrating 200 years of Edgar Allan Poe, this house brings Poe’s writings and dark poetry to life. You can even experience the thrill—and terror—of being buried alive.
Both houses are located in Kansas City’s historic West Bottoms district: Macabre Cinema at 1222 W. 12th St., and the Chambers of Poe at 1100 Santa Fe.
Tickets are $15 each, or $26 for both houses, and all proceeds benefit The Dream Factory.
