MoDOT Will Need Qualified Workers

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The economic stimulus package means millions for transportation projects. Those projects could mean more jobs right here in the metro.

A new partnership wants to make sure there are enough qualified people to take those positions with the Missouri Department of Transportatoin.

You must have a commercial driving license and that's where the new free training program comes in.

Stimulus money from Washington will also create new positions.

The bottom line: MoDOT needs qualified workers across the state and he call to oneness movement knows where to find good people who want those jobs.

We also have a shared value in respect to outreach to try to impact our communities in a pro active and positive way,” Jim Fight with MoDOT Human Resources said.

So, to find more qualified workers, MoDOT is offering free workshops for people who want to get the required commercial drivers license

MoDOT isn't the only place you'll be qualified to work once you get the required commercial drivers license. You'll be eligible to be a bus driver, truck drivers, construction worker--any type of maintenance or transportation career.

The free workshops for people who to get the required commercial driver’s license will be at three metro churches. Call the phone numbers for reservations.

At the free workshop you get free manual and leaders will help you know what to study for test and where to go take the test.

Just so you know – some CDL workshops cost hundreds of dollars so it's a great opportunity.
