Despite the swell of job applicants into the state, some employers are having a tough time filling positions.
Missouri employers are working hard to fill jobs in health care and social assistance
but finding the right applicants is proving to be a challenge.
In a survey conducted by the Missouri Economic Research and Information Center, employers listed interpersonal skills as important for 8 percent of openings.
But administrators said 63 percent of applicants lacked a positive attitude.
Another 58 percent had poor customer service skills. Plus, 54 percent had bad communication skills.
