JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Utility regulators have approved rate increases for several hundred thousand Missouri customers of Kansas City Power & Light.
Under an agreement approved Wednesday, a typical residential customer of KCP&L will pay about $12.82 more a month.
The Missouri Public Service Commission also approved rate increases for KCP&L customers in territories previously served by Aquila. Those customers will see a typical increase of $9.13 a month in the Kansas City area and $8.58 a month in the St. Joseph area.
The rate increase for the former Aquila areas amounts to $83 million. The rate increase for the traditional KCP&L areas amounts to $95 million.
