KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Thrifty Car Rental has so many cars jamming Florida rental locations it is offering a limited time $1/day rental for cars heading to the airport location in Kansas City and in six other cities nationwide.
"It's one of those deals that kind of helps us move around cars when we need to," Chris Payne with Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group said. "Obviously we need cars in Kansas City so that's where we're wanting them dropped."
To qualify, you must pick up your rental at the airport location in Ft. Lauderdale, Ft. Myers, Miami, Orlando, Tampa, or West Palm Beach.
Besides Kansas City, other airport locations where you can drop off the Florida rental are two in Chicago and one each in Cincinnati, Columbus, Dayton, Louisville, and Philadelphia.
The deal is good for a mid-size car and is good for a maximum of seven days.
The $1/day deal has tight restrictions and according to
Thrifty’s website, cars kept beyond seven days will be charged $65/day plus a hefty one-way drop fee.
