Chrysler Wants to Close 11 Area Dealerships

Forty-two Chrysler dealerships - 11 in the Kansas City area - will close in Kansas and Missouri as the company works to reduce competition amongst its own stores.

I hate to see people lose their jobs, but this reduction in dealerships is long overdue. There are far too many dealers in most metro areas for the population. The reduced number will still allow for price competition. This may create some inconveniences for people who have to drive farther to have their car serviced at a dealer but this downsizing is necessary.
