KANSAS CITY, Mo. - With all the Circuit City stores closed in the metro, if you have an extended warranty or even a credit card, you are still in luck.

Deron Rex thought he made a wise decision when he bought this Samsung high def camcorder last summer.

He paid more than $200 for an extended warranty on the camera just to be safe.

"With them going out of business, will I be able to get it replaced if it accidentally damaged, and what about the cleaning?" asked Rex.

Fortunately, he's in luck at least for part of his expense.
Circuit City's Advantage plan, the stores extended warranty program, is run by a third party. Circuit City officials say those extended warranties are still good for the entire contract.

However, Rex will only be able to get an annual service and cleaning only if he mails out his camera.

As for Circuit City credit cards, they are expected to be sold to a bank, and will still be valid.
