KANSAS CITY, MO – The Chiefs will show their appreciation to our Armed Forces this Sunday when the San Diego Chargers play Kansas City at Arrowhead Stadium.

The Chiefs will hold “Military Appreciation Day.” There will be a day-long series of events surrounding the AFC West showdown. The team and Arrowhead suite-holders will also host 1,200 local military personnel at Sunday’s contest.

Members of the Armed Forces and their families will receive special discounted field-level tickets for the Chiefs game against San Diego.

The day’s events will begin with a pregame ceremony honoring past, present and future members of the military. It will also include a flyover of four UH60M Helicopters from the Assault Helicopter Battalion out of Fort Riley. General Donald M. Campbell Jr. will serve as honorary captain for the game.

Military personnel at halftime will unfurl a giant flag to salute their fallen comrades as four T-6As from Vance Air Force Base fly over Arrowhead. The halftime events will end with 40 men and women participating in a U.S. Army induction ceremony.

A portion of the proceeds from all “Military Appreciation Day” merchandise sales will benefit the U.S. Army’s Wounded Warriors unit from Fort Riley, Kan. The Wounded Warriors Project helps severely-injured service men and women.
