KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe has been suspended by the National Football League for "violating the NFL policy on performance enhancing substances,'' according to a team news release.

Bowe's suspension will begin immediately, according to the team.

The team will have no comment on the suspension.

Bowe is in his third season with the team.

He caught more passes and gained more receiving yards that any other Chiefs wide receiver in his first two seasons.

The Chiefs drafted Bowe out of LSU.
