There is some good news in the housing industry when it comes to saving on the closing of your home. That is if you live in Missouri or Kansas.
Bankrate.com released a survey showing how much you can expect to pay for closing costs on a $200,000 home if you put down 20 percent and have good credit. However, the fees don't include government fees, taxes, and escrow.
Bankrate.com says the average cost for a $200,000 home is $2,361 in Kansas. That is almost the cheapest in the country. The state misses that spot by just one spot. Nevada is slightly cheaper than Kansas in the survey. Kansas ranks 51 which is an improvement from 55th last year.
Missouri fares just as well, falling slightly behind Kansas at 47th. The average rate is $2,429 for closing costs.
The most expensive City is Texas at $3,855.
