NEW YORK, NY -- The Better Business Bureau says the latest work at home scheme involves Twitter.  Consumers are being told they can make money from the comfort of their home by using Twitter.

The BBB says while the large print of these ads promise big returns, the truth is in the fine print.  You could end up losing money ever month.

The BBB says one email it has stated, “Twitter Workers Needed ASAP, You're Hired! Make Extra Cash with Twitter; As seen on USA Today, CNN, and ABC... Apply Now!”   The BBB says the email links you to a company website out of England.  EasyTweetProfits.com claims you can make $250-873 per day working on Twitter.  You just need a risk-free Twitter Software kit, put your typing skills to work, and you can start earning cash the website claims.  The software kit is risk free for seven days.  You just pay a small handling fee, but the seven day trial period starts the day your CD is shipped not when you receive it.  If you don't cancel the trial membership in seven days, then you agree to pay $47 a month.

There is another website, Twitter Profit House, which makes similar claims.  The hook again is that you are enrolled in the $99.99 a month program, once the CD is ordered.

“These Web sites have not been up for very long so, if experience has taught us anything, we know that it’s only a matter of time before the complaints start coming in,” added Claire Rosenzweig, President and CEO of the Better Business Bureau Serving Metropolitan New York. “Work-at-home schemes are like a game of wack-a-mole and new Web sites crop up practically every day.”
