DALLAS - If you're on Twitter, or Facebook, finding your favorite airline is getting easier.
American Airlines broke into the social networking scene last year by launching a facebook page. This year they lauched a Twitter page.
Charley Wilson from American Airlines says the company wants to go where people go to get information. He adds "if people prefer to get quick hits of information it just makes sense."
American is just one of several airlines getting into this trend.
You can find Southwest airlines tweeting about their latest flights, and Delta advertising on YouTube.
Whether you like to follow or friend, you can compliment or even criticize American in a public forum, from the comfort of your home.
All of them want you to know about their latest deals and even delays.
Scott Studer who is a frequent flier on American Airlines would love to know about deals. He believes "It would be more valuable because I could receive it on my mobile phone that way."
Some Facebook users won't go out of their way to look for the information. Betsy Bryan believes "If it's not a good friend, not a close friend I'm just not into that."
American Airlines plans to launch a linked in page in 2010. It will use that site to announce job openings.
