NEW YORK – Forbes Magazine’s list of the best states for business is out. Kansas ranks 15th this year, while Missouri dropped to 29.
Forbes considered states’ costs, labor supply, and quality of life in making the ratings. Virginia finished first for the third consecutive year. Georgia moved from 15th to fifth place.
The biggest factor between Virginia and all other states was lower growth projections for the next five years. Utah was second-ranked, Washington was third, and North Carolina ranked fourth.
