PINEVILLE, Mo. - A former McDonald County prosecutor's office clerk will go to trial for telling people she had cancer and then accepting donations even though she was healthy.

Associate Judge John LePage bound 42-year-old Tammy Young over for trial Wednesday after a preliminary hearing.

Young was charged earlier this year with two counts of felony stealing.

Young reportedly accepted $10,000 in donations to cover cancer treatments.

She worked in the prosecutor's office from June 2008 until this summer.

Defense attorney Ross Rhoades argued that prosecutors hadn't proven his client didn't believe she had cancer.
