KANSAS CITY, Mo. – These days, birthday freebies are turning into a big business.
BirthdayFreebies.com is making it easier to feel special on your special day by listing vendors and companies in your area that want to give you something free for your birthday.
Why would they do that? “It’s a win-win, if you think about it,” says Frank Erceg from Repeat Rewards. When it comes to getting a free breakfast or dinner, he says, “They’re coming in and getting a free meal but they’re also buying one with a friend or loved one.”
From free meals at local favorites, to a free safari tour at Busch Gardens in Tampa, some things are useful, and some are fun. Even mega-companies have companies like Disney have bought into the birthday bonanza, offering free admission on your big day.
And some freebies are downright…surprising—like an organizing service that gives you the third hour for free.
One dentist office offers free teeth cleanings anytime during the week of your birthday. “We do that to make them feel special,” says Dr. Nicole Gordon. “Just a little patient appreciation.”
In order to get the deals, you have to sign up. We did, and here’s just a few of the freebies we found:
- Anthony’s Restaurant and Lounge will give you a free order of spumoni when you dine in on your birthday, and 54th Street Grill & Bar offers a free “tiny” birthday cake when you eat there
- The Picture People and Boston Market both say you’ll get special offers in the mail for your child’s big day
- Firehouse Subs will give you a free sandwich, and Captain D’s will provide the dessert
There are more offers available, and they vary depending on your location and the radius you select.
