KSHB-TV Begins Broadcasting Local News In HD

KANSAS CITY – April 24, 2008 -- KSHB-TV, Kansas City's NBC Action News Station, began broadcasting their local newscasts in high definition on Thursday, April 24. Kansas City viewers with high definition television sets will notice a sharper picture, with more vivid colors and enhanced audio. Even those viewers watching on traditional analog sets will notice a dramatic change in picture quality. The NBC Action Weather Plus team of meteorologists also launched a new state of the art high definition weather system which enables them to provide Kansas City's most accurate forecast with clearer maps, radars and graphics.

Every KSHB newscast will be broadcast in high definition, including NBC Action News Today from 5am-7am, NBC Action News Midday at 11am, NBC Action News at 5pm, NBC Action News at 6pm, NBC Action News at 10pm as well as all weekend newscasts. These newscasts, added to the station's high-def syndicated line-up and NBC's impressive number of HD programs, allow KSHB to broadcast up to 15 hours of high definition programming per day, clearly making NBC Action News Kansas City's HD Leader.
